3 Ways To Effortlessly Plan Your Social Media Content (+ How To Pick Which You Should Use)

Most advice to plan your social media content is unnecessary.
Spreadsheets, content calendars, mood boards, and endless brainstorming sessions.
It all sounds productive, but it eats up more time than you realise… and more time than it should.
If you want to actually grow an audience you can sell to, you need a process that works in real life, week after week.
Out of all the methods I’ve tried, there are 3 that work best for me. Here’s what they are and how you should decide which works best for you:
1 - The Content Factory To Plan Your Social Media Content
Creating new content ideas every day is a nightmare.
Most people quit social media not because they’re bad at posting, but because they burn out thinking of new content ideas every day.
The Content Factory solves that.
You do one big piece of content about a topic you know like the back of your hand. For example:
A 10-minute YouTube video
A detailed blog post
A podcast episode
Then you cut that single piece into smaller pieces:
5 short clips for TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels
3 graphics for Instagram
4 tweets or LinkedIn posts
Boom. That’s your entire week’s content done!
This method works because:
You’re already the expert. You talk about what you know, so you don’t run out of things to say.
It’s efficient. One filming/writing session = days of content.
It builds trust. You’re not posting random things: you’re teaching, sharing, and positioning yourself as the go-to person in your industry.
2 - The Picasso Method To Plan Your Social Media Content
Pablo Picasso once said, “Good artists copy, great artists steal.”
If you’re just starting and don’t know what to post, steal topics from the top accounts in your industry, then put your own unique spin on them.
Notice what’s working for them:
Which posts get the most comments?
Which reels get shared the most?
Then make your own version with your own stories, your own voice, and your own unique angle.
This method works because:
You don’t start from a blank page.
You use proven topics that have already attracted attention.
You learn what your market wants to see.
Important: you’re not copying them word for word. You’re borrowing ideas and sharing your perspective on those ideas.
That’s what makes it yours; no one can beat you at being you.
3 - The Self-Picasso Method To Plan Your Social Media Content
This one’s for people who’ve been posting a while but want to grow faster.
Instead of stealing from others, you “steal” from yourself.
Look at your own posts:
Which ones got the most likes?
Which ones brought actual enquiries or sales?
Then do more of that.
If one type of post outperforms everything else, that’s your audience telling you what they want. So give it to them.
This method works because:
You’re doubling down on what already works for you.
It saves time because you don’t have to think of new ideas daily.
Most businesses overcomplicate content planning. But really, all you need is one of these three:
The Content Factory - best for experts with knowledge to share
The Picasso Method - best for beginners learning what works
The Self-Picasso Method - best for experienced posters who want to double down on wins
Pick one, and start making content!
