My Simple Trick To Make Your Content Reach 2–3x More People

If you’ve ever posted content or made a product/downloadable online and watched it flop… I know how that feels.

My first three lead magnets completely failed.

No downloads, no clients, literally nothing except my disappointment.

But my 4th one?

It worked.

And not because the idea was better.

It worked because I finally learned one simple rule:

Make everything available in more than one format.

And if you give me 3 minutes, I’ll show you why this small change can significantly improve the results you get from your content, social media, and lead magnets.

Let’s dive in.

People Don’t Consume Content the Same Way

Some people love listening to audio in the car.

Some like sitting down to read something slowly.

Some want to watch a quick video.

So when you only post in one format, you’re only talking to a tiny slice of your audience…

while ignoring everyone else.

That’s exactly what I accidentally did.

My First 3 Lead Magnets Failed (Here’s Why)

Each of those first three lead magnets was only written.

● No audio.

● No video.

● No alternative version.

If you didn’t like reading?

Too bad. It wasn’t for you.

So of course they flopped.

They were good ideas (I still stand by that). They were just presented in one format that only some people enjoy.

Then came lead magnet #4.

This time, I made:

✅ A written version

✅ An audio version

And suddenly people began downloading it.

People who never read PDFs listened to it.

People who don’t like audio read the written version.

Same ideas, but in different formats…

Completely different results.

The Same Thing Happened on Social Media

My first ever reel on LinkedIn became my highest-performing post at the time within DAYS.

So I thought:

“Great! Reels are the secret. I’ll only post reels.”

And then…

my engagement dropped for two weeks straight.

So I switched to only carousel posts.

And guess what?

Engagement dropped again.

It wasn’t the reels, it wasn’t the carousels, it wasn’t the images.

It was the lack of variety.

Recently, I found the winning formula:

A mix of reels + carousels + simple image posts.

And everything improved again.

Why Posting In More Than One Format Works

Imagine an ‘Italian restaurant’ that only serves pizza.

Even if it’s the best pizza in the world, not everyone there wants pizza.

Your content is the same.

If you only create one type, people who don’t like that type will scroll past you forever.

But if you offer:

  • a short video,

  • a simple image,

  • a helpful carousel,

  • and a written post…

you’ll catch everyone at least some of the time.

More formats = more attention = more clients.

What This Means for Your Business

Whether you’re creating:

  • A lead magnet

  • A course

  • A newsletter

  • Social media content

  • A free guide

  • A “top tips” list

You should never publish it in only one format.

Here’s the simplest version of the rule:

If you write it, record it.

If you record it, summarise it.

If you summarise it, turn it into images or slides.

Every version you create gives you:

● More reach

● More engagement

● More potential clients

● More chances to get seen by the right people

And none of this takes that much more time, as you’re just repackaging the same idea with different packaging.

How a Local Business Can Use This Today

Let’s say you’re a roofer, plumber, dentist, coach, cleaner, landscaper, builder, literally any local business under the sun..

Take one simple topic, like:

“3 signs you need to fix ____  before it gets expensive.”

Then make it into:

  • A 30-second video explaining the signs

  • A written post with the three bullet points

  • A carousel breaking each sign into one slide

  • An image post with just the main headline

  • A downloadable PDF “Homeowner Checklist”

  • A short audio message talking through the signs

It’s the same idea, but in six formats.

And WAY more customers reached.
